Bird by Bird

Some Instructions on Writing and Life
“Bird by bird buddy. Just take it bird by bird” is the quote from where Anne draws the title, and once you read the accompanying story you’ll smile, chuckle and take it deep into your heart. Anne creates such an intimate space and conversations with you the reader, drawing you in and in a very different way than most books I’ve shared here, opening you up. Her sense of humor, storyline, and simple instructions leave you taking in the world, yourself, and those around you with more generosity and kindness. And that goes for yourself as well.
All lessons that I see apply to life, our creativity, our mindsets, our artistry. Ways to keep stepping forward and enjoying the pace, whatever that might be for today.
“Almost all good writing begins with terrible first efforts. You need to start somewhere. Start by getting something - anything - down on paper. A friend of mine says that the first draft is the down draft - you just get it down. The second draft is the up draft - you fix it up”
