The place where art and audience collide
— The Seattle Times

Andrew Goldstein

Andrew is one inspiring dude. He cut his teeth in artistic administration under David Finckel and Wu Han as their Artistic Administrator for Music@Menlo Chamber Music Festival and institute and Chamber Music Today in Seoul, South Korea AND managed ArtistLed records, Music@Menlo Live, and the duo’s online presence. In 2014 he co-founded with violinist Kristin Lee, a new year-round chamber music series in the Puget Sound, Emerald City Music, which has struck a poignant and incredibly successful balance in creating innovative casual concert experiences that promote the raw, human, and interconnected nature of classical music. Andrew’s thought process and how he has built that success is, in my opinion, the new foundational platform that we should all be studying as his audiences are packed with diversity in any way you care to explore - race, religion, age, economic status. He brings in techie’s, under 40’s, over 40’s and sells out concerts regardless of programming and location and Emerald City is on fire HOT. It is an authentic and engaged audience that inspires me as a performer to reach higher and dig deeper. Every time Andrew I have sit down to chat I’m inspired by wherever we go and I know this episode will be no different!
